The self-driving taxis developed by Google’s sister company Waymo are set to be available to order as Uber rides in the US later this year, the companies have announced. The collaboration, which sees the US mobility companies taking a significant step forwards in their efforts to phase out human drivers, is to begin in the city of Phoenix in the course of 2023, the companies said on Tuesday.
