“The Boy”, a short film that warns of the threat of violence in a kibbutz near the Gaza Strip border, has collected two festival awards in Munich, just weeks after its director was killed in the October 7 attacks led by Hamas fighters. The 42nd student film festival Filmschoolfest Munich in November concluded with awards ceremonies on a sombre note, when the film by Israeli director Yahav Winner was cited for two awards.
