The first Donald Trump rally that I covered was in 2016 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., not far from Woodstock, the town for which that fabled rock concert was named. As at theWoodstock festival in 1969, a seemingly endless crowd of people showed up on that beautiful spring day, all excited to recognize so many kindred spirits.
