By Jacob Leeks Roy Keane’s hopes of being appointed as the Republic of Ireland’s manager have been handed a major boost after Lee Carsley rejected the job. Earlier this week, the legendary Manchester United skipper revealed his desire to return to coaching. Keane has had two previous spells in management, with Sunderland and Ipswich Town. He led the Black Cats to the Championship title in 2007, but he was then dismissed by the Tractor Boys in January 2011.
