7 Cuban migrants come ashore near South Florida park

MIAMI — Seven Cuban migrants landed near Matheson Hammock park in Miami-Dade County on Monday night, according to the U.S. Border Patrol. Details about the landing were still pending Tuesday afternoon, but the Border Patrol said in a statement that they came ashore on a homemade boat. Matheson Hammock is a county-run park off Old Cutler Road that extends into Biscayne Bay.
